About SEA Game Jam

The first event of the first ever SEA Game Jam series is welcoming all gaming enthusiasts and professionals to show off their skills and develop a game from scratch for 48 hours. In addition to the Game Jam, we have prepared a conference with top-notch speakers from the gaming industry along with a competition for the best Bulgarian Indie game – SEA Game Indie Pitch.

The event will be hosted in the building of our partners – University of Economics, Varna, Bulgaria and will be held from 3rd to 6th of March 2022. The Game Jam will follow all measures recommended by the National Health Inspectorate. All participants will be admitted if they possess Green Certificate with a full vaccination cycle only.

SEA Game Jam Registration

During the first day of the hackathon, you will have the opportunity to attend lectures by professionals in the industry with a vast experience talking about topics how to successfully develop winning games – level design, marketing and monetisation, advertising the games and etc. Then you will team up with other participants (up to 4 people in a team) and you will have 48 hours intense work on developing the game.

In the end, the developed prototypes will be tested by all participants and guests of the event. The jury of Zariba Games will award the best teams and their games.

There will be prizes as well! We will award the winners with vouchers for tech products from our partners.

SEA Indie Pitch Registration

On Sunday (6th of March) during the first ever SEA Game Jam event, we will also host the competition for Indie studios – SEA Game Indie Pitch, organised by Zariba Games.

All Bulgarian indie studios and independent developers (regardless of the game genre) are more than welcomed to participate in the pitch. The teams should meet the following criteria:

Up to 5 people in the team developed the game
The game should be developed in the past 2 years (not earlier)
The team should present a playable demo (min 2 mins)

The winners will have the unique opportunity to present their game in front of industry professionals on one of the biggest indie conferences in the region, part of the international Dev Play 2022 conference. SEA Game Indie Pitch and Zariba will cover all expenses for 2 people from the winning team – travel, lodging and tickets for the event.

* Every team will have up to 5 minutes to present their project/idea and up to 5 minutes for Q&A.

The Game Dev conference will be held on Friday, the 4th of March 2022. All participants will be able to attend lectures from professionals on topics related to game creation – level design, marketing, monetization, etc.

We are exclusively opening the lectures for visitors who are not participating in other modules.

We welcome you to the conference at the University of Economics – Varna.
